A Century of Daylily Breeding, finally connected.
See what a cross yeilds, trace a line back generations, and explore the relationships between 104,000+ registered cultivars, and the trait data on nearly every varieties offspring. Connected, mapped, and searchable in seconds.

Stop totally guessing what a cross throws.
A bad cross costs three or four years and the bed space before you can find out. Trait statistics turn the hunch into a distribution — the average, spread, and direction of every registered numeric trait a parent actually passes on — so you know what to expect before you do your first cross.
Find the promising cross no one has made.
Check a plant's offspring and deep ancestry before you spend money on it. Spot the pairings no one has bridged yet, and skip the parents that won't serve your goals.
Read inheritance generations deep.
Trace how a trait is carried down a line and compare outcomes generations apart — over a century of parentage and 71,000+ photos, searchable in seconds from the garden or the couch.
Five tools, one dataset
The data behind the great crosses
Variety Search & Trait Analytics
Get a cultivar's traits instantly.
Type any name and pull its full record — height, bloom size, branching, bud count, ploidy, form, color, and awards. Then see the numbers that matter: how each trait actually distributes across a plant's children, color-coded against the parent so you know exactly what it throws.
- Type-ahead search across 104,000+ varieties with photo previews
- Full trait profile plus known parents, loaded on demand
- Children trait summary — average, range, spread, and skew vs. the parent
- Sortable, configurable grid of nearly every registered direct child (up to 18 fields)

Hybridizer Network Graph
Map an entire breeding program.
Pick one hybridizer — or several — and render their whole network as a living, interactive map. Pod and pollen parentage are drawn as red and cyan threads; node size tracks influence. Filter by ploidy and year to trace exactly how a line came together.
- Stays smooth and responsive even with thousands of varieties on screen
- Pod-parent (red) and pollen-parent (cyan) relationships at a glance
- Node size scales with a variety's influence across the graph
- Filter by ploidy and year range; drag, zoom, and pin any node

Interactive Pedigree Tree
Walk any lineage, up to 30 generations.
Center any variety and expand its ancestry and descendants a generation at a time. Double-click two nodes to light up the exact breeding path between them; triple-click to re-root the tree on the spot — without losing where you were.
- Ancestors and descendants, expanded a generation at a time
- Path-finding highlight between any two varieties in the tree
- Generation-colored nodes with photos and complete trait tooltips
- Re-root on any node and step back through your history

Common Ancestor Finder
Find where any two lines meet.
Pick any two varieties and surface known ancestors they share — with the connecting paths drawn through the pedigree so you can see exactly how both lines trace back. The fastest way to check how related a planned cross really is.
- Shared ancestors between any two cultivars, found in seconds
- Both descent paths highlighted so the relationship is legible
- Spot line-breeding depth before you commit a season to a cross
- 10 lookups a day on Garden — 100 a day on Hybridizer

Community Detection · Hybridizer plan
See the hidden neighborhoods in a century of breeding.
Run community detection over any network and watch the graph sort itself into breeding communities — the clusters of varieties that actually built on each other. Tune the resolution to zoom communities coarser or finer, and weigh pod versus pollen lines to match how you think about a cross.
- Four algorithms, from fast label propagation to weighted Louvain
- Tunable resolution — split the graph into broad eras or tight families
- Pod/pollen breeding-weight controls tailor clusters to your program
- Export any view as a branded, social-ready share card

Questions, answered
Before you start
Where does the data come from?
The records are sourced from the American Daylily Society's cultivar registration database — 104,000+ registered daylilies, 71,000+ bloom photos, and the parentage links between them, spanning more than 100 years of registrations, connected and searchable in one place.
Isn't this data already free on the ADS site?
The ADS registry is the authoritative source, and it's free — we build on it. What the Visualizer adds is the connections between records. What we work to provide is connections: every parentage link resolved into pedigree trees and hybridizer networks on demand, the trait distribution of a plant's offspring computed for you, shared ancestors between any two lines found in seconds, and breeding communities detected across a century of crosses. It's the difference between reading a plant's registration and seeing what comes out for generations and how it's related to everything else.
Can I record my own seedlings and crosses?
Not yet — the Visualizer is a read-only research tool built on the registered record. You can search, map, and analyze nearly every registered cultivar and its parentage, but there's no personal seedling log or private crosses to enter. Think of it as the reference you consult while you plan, not the notebook you keep. A place to record your own line is on our radar for the future.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
The trial runs on the Garden plan and is available to first-time subscribers. You get full Garden access for 14 days; a card is required to start, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — from your account's billing portal, anytime. You keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for, and no further charges are made.
What's the difference between the Garden and Hybridizer plans?
Both plans include the full database. Garden covers everyday exploring — 300 searches, 50 pedigrees, and 10 Common Ancestor lookups a day, with pedigrees to 8 generations. Hybridizer is built for running an active breeding program: every daily limit raised (1,500 searches, 100 Common Ancestor lookups), ancestry to 30 generations, plus three tools Garden doesn't get — community detection, branded graph exports, and priority support.
When should I upgrade to Hybridizer?
Move up when you're running an active breeding program: tracing lines deeper than 8 generations, mapping whole hybridizer networks, or leaning on community detection and branded graph exports that Garden doesn't include. Hybridizer also raises every daily limit for heavy research sessions. Upgrading takes effect immediately and is prorated, so you can switch the moment Garden stops keeping pace.
Can I start on Garden and upgrade later?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated — you're only charged the difference for the rest of your billing cycle, and your billing date doesn't change.
Do I need to install anything?
No — nothing to install and nothing to download. The Visualizer works right in your web browser on your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. Just sign in and it's there: look up a variety from the garden on your phone, or explore pedigrees on the couch.
